"Why the last of the JFK files could embarrass the CIA"

It always strikes me as odd that an organization like the CIA have or did have any files relating to any of the players in the JFK affair. If they deny any knowledge of Oswald throughout his odd career as having worked for them or ONI or when he was in the old USSR , then why would they have any files related to this man. Is the CIA supposed not to get its self involved in internal American affairs. It always strikes me as guilt by association , this man was involved with you therefore you have case files on him.
