So it seems that Marina did authorise their release, to the Fontaines, and - crucially - "for the express purpose of making these materials available to the American public through the print and/or electronic media, and answering all questions raised about Lee Oswald's tax returns since 1963."

They also featured in The Continuing Inquiry by Mary Ferrell in 1977. However, it seems that Mary only "reconstructed" his tax affairs based on income from employment declared within the 26 volumes of the WC. She finishes the article by saying that only the disclosure of hisactual tax record would settle the argument as to whether or not he received income and/or expenses from the FBI or any other agency.
