Peter @ 27
My read is that is trickier than this. He appears to be a hybrid skeptic while denigrating "truthers" as people who uniformly deny that terrorists exist. But what he did so effectively was to in fact deny any deep political alternative since it came from the mind of "truthers" and they are just foolish and should be dismissed.
In my view, this is a classic technique of disinformation. He is carving out a space for liberals who might believe in the MIC as being a bad thing, but whatever happened, it certainly was not planned as an inside job. 'Only "truthers" believe there is no such thing as terrorists and we know they are fools.'
Ultimately, he created a space for doubt which is in and of itself is the goal. JO's position made a nice middle ground for people who did not believe the official narrative and the "truthers." Easy peasy.
Finally, I think he was a master at creating discord among the moderators, which damaged DPF. Consciously done? Or maybe he was just a natural, I don't know. His "politeness" was in my view a charade to mask his Strategy of Confusion. Conscious or not, I don't know. If it were not conscious, how could it be a strategy? Now we are in the realm of the Unspeakable. Jeffrey was a polite (cunning or otherwise) representative of a vast structure of lies.
The JFK assassination "debates" include many more palatable explanations. 'OK, sure, there really was a conspiracy, but it was the mob that did it. JFK was getting what was coming to him because of Bobby going after Hoffa.' Or 'JFK was trying to kill Castro, but Castro beat him to it.' JO is an analogue to these efforts at disinformation.
OK, I am done with this. To the mods, I know you have taken on a tough task. I support DPF and your work. I only suggest this one was mishandled. OK, no need to IM me. I'll quit picking on you. I apologize who want to keep things more positive.
But, remember, if someone is pissing in your ear, don't let them tell you it's raining.

Quote:Lastly, he originally [here and elsewhere] presented himself as questioning the official version...but that slowly morphed to defending it...!!!! Here is a statement he made only a few months short of two years ago elsewhere...
