We are (well, most of us, anyway) vapid immobile mind-controlled 'comfortably numbed' lemmings contemplating our SUV's, McMansions, annual bonuses and the latest in 'reality TV' but incapable of seeing the reality of what has happened (continues to happen) despite being presented with the facts and cajoled with the evidence. We find the idea of revolting ... well, revolting: don't bother us (well, most of us) with jabbering about war crimes, the rule of law, that paper called the Constitution, or global disapproval of the excesses of empire.
