It's a pretty chaotic place. It was Lynn Samuels talking about the JFK assassination on her show that got me interested in reading books about it. Lynn was thrown off the air a time or two. Gary Null who is a institution at that station has done a lot of shows on the assassination. He was also taken off the air a few years ago. Now he's back.WBAI and the Pacifica network have probably done more shows on the 60s assassinations, the CIA and black ops than any other media outlet. The station's archives are a great resource.
Back before the internet, WBAI was [aside from my family, family contacts and books] my first [and long after] contacts with the 'alternative views' and real news and ideas. Few in the USA and fewer still out of it are aware of the treasures in the Pacifica Archives [you can find this on the internet] or those of the individual Pacifica stations [5 now]. The one in Houston was twice bombed by enemies of the Truth being told. All have had over the years funding problems and perhaps more so now with the internet competition [they rely on listener voluntary 'subscriptions'/donations]. WBAI just had to cut most of its staff and looks to me as if it might not survive. Most of the voices I used to listen to are now gone [either dead or just gone away], but there are still some very good shows and the archives are invaluable on all progressive action and thought from after WWII to present. One of my favorite political shows, at present is Guns and Butter....but many other great shows still exist or are available from the past when they did.
