"I have just delivered documents from the Russian Federal Migration Service. He can now leave the transit zone," Snowden's lawyer told Interfax on Thursday (Aug. 1). WikiLeaks reported that Snowden was granted refugee status in the country. Paul Sonne of the Wall Street Journal reported that his lawyer said the temporary asylum was granted for one year, and added that Snowden had already left the airport as of 8 a.m. Thursday.
The most relevant literature regarding what happened since September 11, 2001 is George Orwell's "1984".
