I thought some of the personal situations were kind of trite, as was some of the dialogue.

And I thought the ending was over the top. But the picture was so well made and acted that these were blurred.

I actually reviewed the movie when it came out. I thought it was one of Lumet's best. And certainly Paddy's best script. ALthough The Hospital was good.

BTW, what a joke the Academy Awards are.

That year, Network and Taxi Driver were both up for Best Picture. They were beaten by Rocky.

What a joke. That is why I don't watch the Oscars anymore.

BTW: Is your name a coincidence, if you know what I mean?
