That's Tweedledumb and Tweedledumber.
We've encountered another one of those rare issues on which we disagree, Peter.
Being told that I must vote is, for me, indistinguishable from being told for whom I must vote.
Again, a HUGE diversion from a thread on 911......I am not passionate about this issue, but would like to see an end to top-down 'representative' democracy and a real bottom-up democracy. The technology exists to have all valid voters vote once from home on all major issues. Of course it takes making sure the electorate is informed on the issues and educated as to history and politics [which they are NOT!]; of course it takes making sure this version of electronic direct voting is not tampered with - difficult given the current system and TPTB; but I think it would express the democratic will of the PEOPLE and not of the Oligarchy and their paid-for puppets - and something to aim for and think about. I also would like few changes [quite a few] in the Constitution and proportional representation and multiple parties. Even in such a system, you could refuse to vote or write in Alfred E. Neuman, et al. Now we have no parties, no choices, no real vote. I don't blame you for wanting to show in some way your contempt for that system. On that we certainly agree!
