I wrote that the towers were a veritable chemistry set of compounds all being ground up rather finely. When they collapsed there was enormous pressure, heat from friction, water and fire which MIGHT create all manner of unusual reactions... including exothermic ones such as thermite... which is made from iron oxide (rust... and there was plenty of that).. aluminum (plenty of that)... sulfur (plenty of that).
I wrote this is something that needs to be considered as a possible explanation for the higher temps and reports or melted metal (of un known type). This hypothesis is as *valid* as many others which are pure speculation it seems.
