Six years of spying on Muslims, NO result

NEW YORK (AP) -- In more than six years of spying on Muslim neighborhoods, eavesdropping on conversations and cataloguing mosques, the New York Police Department's secret Demographics Unit never generated a lead or triggered a terrorism investigation, the department acknowledged in court testimony unsealed late Monday.
The Demographics Unit is at the heart of a police spying program, built with help from the CIA, which assembled databases on where Muslims lived, shopped, worked and prayed. Police infiltrated Muslim student groups, put informants in mosques, monitored sermons and catalogued every Muslim in New York who adopted new, Americanized surnames.

Hands up, who is surprized by this result?

No hands up, but, as we all know....they helped keep the Americans terrorized, and their attention diverted from their pockets being picked! So the results, while criminal, were very good - for a handful - the plan from the beginning. Along the way, they may have even located some good potential new patsies, This was just one of many similar projects on city, state, and national levels. [targeting other groups, as well!]

And they can probably pay for the whole program by selling their 'list' to someone who sells prayer rugs or other such items. More likely they sold it to the DHS for more military 'Police' gear. The lists are being prepared for potential 'round-ups'......a chilling copy of the work IBM helped the SS with on another stigmatized group. Frightening times people are becoming acclimated to...so now America can't any longer ask why so few of the Good Germans did anything at the beginning of the Reich.....unless one now asks why the Good Americans are doing so precious little to stop this decent into the inevitable..... The parallels are not perfect, to be sure, but good enough for comparison.
