I was waiting for this. I had heard a bit of discussion about this on the left mail lists. It looks as if it will be back to subsistence farming for Ireland.
Taxing pensioners for the banks losses is a bit bloody cheeky. I din't know that they are going to get away with that. There are so many other ways of raising the money like ... oh... taxing the wealthy for starters. What about a turn over tax on every share, future, commodity traded? They just have no imagination.
