The Dutroux crimes also link directly to Gladio structures, which are crucial to understanding post WW2 deep politics.

See for instance Dutroux protagonist Baudouin Dernicourt's involvement with the supposedly extreme-left terrorists Cellules Communistes Combattants (CCC).

Except the CCC were a false flag creature of Gladio, whose "terrorist atrocities" enabled a right-wing authoritarian crackdown on all protest.

As Daniele Ganser writes in 'Nato's Secret Armies', p. 138:

"This thesis was supported when it was revealed that the alleged Communist terror group CCC in reality had been set up by the extreme right. Between October 1984 and fall 1985 the CCC was responsible for 27 attacks. CCC was lead by Pierre Carette and targeted, with well-planned explosions, classical capitalist symbols including American installations linked to NATO, banks and military installations. On December 17, 1985 the leaders of CCC were arrested and the unit was closed down in the biggest military and police round up that Belgium had seen ever since the arrest of the Nazis after the Second World War. The Communists were discredited at least until journalists discovered that CCC leader Pierre Carette had in the beginning of the 1980s erected a terrorist network made up of agents linked to the extreme right. His principal aide, Marc De Laever, had later joined a German extreme rightwing group."
