This is not complicated.
I agree, Jack, that we must recognize and negotiate the uninitiateds' learning curves AND grab their attention by utilizing the same forms of communication that are currently doing the grabbing.
In other words, we must be propagandists -- my word, not yours.
But we must never misinform, misdirect, or stray over the line that separates elegantly simple presentations from simple-minded butcherings of the greater, deeper truths.
Ventura seems to be on the side of the angels. But he is relatively easy to lampoon and even demonize. To the great unwashed, the credentials of a lying Bugliosi trump those of a truth-telling Ventura.
My point? Let's not put all our eggs in Jesse's basket when it comes to media allies. And let's not overestimate his value or underestimate his potential liabilities.

If an individual, through either his own volition or events over which he had no control, found himself taking up residence in a country undefined by flags or physical borders, he could be assured of one immediate and abiding consequence: He was on his own, and solitude and loneliness would probably be his companions unto the grave.
-- James Lee Burke, Rain Gods
You can't blame the innocent, they are always guiltless. All you can do is control them or eliminate them. Innocence is a kind of insanity.
