Why did Clinton and Gore choose not to have the Justice Dept go after Senator Jesse Helms after my comments about him before the ARRB caused him to issue all sorts of threats to both Gore and Clinton? Check out the dates yourself. My testimony to the ARRB was on a Friday or a Saturday, I think and his threats to Clinton went out the following Sunday and were reported on the following Monday. By the way, the comments I made were exorcised from my testimony. Joe Knapp remembers these comments however about both Helms and Thurmond, too, which were obviously considered too hot to handle for the ARRB.
