I think armed conflict is inevitable, Ed. In fact, from the US standpoint it seems more logical and cost effective for them to pull out of Afghanistan altogether and focus on the rich bounty on offer in Venezuela. It's much closer to home and in contrast to Afghanistan, in Colombia they have a reliable and compliant government in place. Just speculating of course.

Of course, the immorality of it all won't phase the war planners.
