Thank you for responding to this in Cineast. Of course there is much more that could be typed on how JFK differed from the Cold War consensus. Here it will be noted that both this article and the Smithsonian article are in publications which are 1) not explicitly political or historical 2) target audiences who will approach the material from the perspective of other disciplines. 3) have a highly educated readership and relatively high social status which may be based on fields other than history.
These are the veins most often utilized by disinformation peddlers trained to poach at the crossroads of disciplines and poach upon social status as a vehicle of wider dissemination of message spreading or message inhibition.
