I'll defer to you on the point of who was the "first" or "among the first" to start spreading the Oswald-Castro stories. I was going on what I remembered reading in McKnight's Breach of Trust. I just looked it up again (p72) - it says that Alvarado went to the US Embassy in MC on Monday Nov 25 with his story about Oswald accepting money from a Cuban to assassinate JFK. I know of Martino, Morales and Sturgis of course but I don't think I've ever read about them fingering Oswald as a Castro agent within a day or two of the assassination. That's very damning evidence against the lone-nut theory and the CIA. I mean how could they know so soon unless they knew about the plot and didn't report it or were in on it? If Oswald was a random nut case how would they even know who he was?
Yes, I see what you're saying, this begs the question, do we really know it was Oswald? Don't forget there was a similar story with Oido.
