Really good summary of the current arctic heat wave from the Washington Post.
EDIT: here is an excellent display of the warm temps in the arctic. Note the blue (cold) blob off the southern tip of Greenland. Those cold water temps are caused by the melting Greenland ice sheet. That cold blob of water is shutting down warm temp conveyor belt that brings warmer temps to Europe. If this shuts down as it is now slowly doing, then get ready for unbelievably violent storms on land and sea.
