I take it you're not endorsing McCathy(ism). A more apt comparison might be if NASA scientists were building spacecraft using wrong geometry, like an erroneous law of right triangles or the wrong formula for the circumference of a circle. The stuff just wouldn't work. Period. Neither did McCarthy and neither does the horsehockey being shovelled on Matthews.
