It always used to be a business trick when dealing with someone who puffs themselves up to imagine them stripped down naked.
But there are some cases where such an exercise can be more damaging to the psyche than an aid.

Now Peter cannot even defend himself against SUCH filth. Had there actually BEEN such a complaint I daresay said lady would step up and say so in public. Only a coward and a true lowlife posts defaming tripe without a hint of evidence. As the only voices of reason and truth leave they will be left with the LenCos and Burtons and Walkers who will promote de-education.
And where in all this is the good John Simkin?

A very strange and loud silence, I agree. I hold a PM that includes the charges; my denials; a repeat of and expansion of charges; my demand to 'put up or shut up'; then a caution that the matter must never be spoken about openly by me [implied that that way he'd then not either]. Fair play was never his strong suit.

Also, the timing of this libel is of keen relevance.
IMMEDIATELY TAKE SCREEN CAPTURES OF THE ACCUSATIONS, INCLUDING THOSE MADE IN PRIVATE E-MAILS.
But by all means do NOT take my word on any of this. Get yourself a good barrister, or solicitor, or whatever in hell they produce at the Inns of Court.
