This is going on the list and I'm eager to learn more Charles. I looked at your earlier posts on the subject (thanks for the link Maggie) yet still have more to read. List of anniversary candidates - Input is always welcome - Ed Jewett - 04-11-2010 Oh, a lovely thread to keep alive... Well, here are three.. though they may not warrant high mention Estulin hinted that Princess Grace's death was a purposeful hit to send a message... Did I see the "Brooks Brothers riot" noted? Did I see the string of events around the Octopus/Cabazon murders? Can you please elaborate on the first one about Princess Grace? I can't find info on it. BBCI Savings and Loan Enron theft of CA electricity Chaos COINTELPRO MK/ULTRA Bank bailouts, etc. Garden Plot Death of a lot of witnesses to assassinations etc. [disappearing witnesses]. The theory, noted in Estulin's "Shadow Masters" as speculation, is that the lady was killed to send a message to her Prince for skimming profits from the casinos in Monte Carlo that were used to launder heroin traffic money. As it was a library book now returned, I can't be more specific, but there wasn't any back-up. But that's why her picture was in my review... The deaths of SecDef Forrestal and that fellow Olson (as noted by Albarelli and others) are at least minor events to be noted... Is 9/11 missing from the list? That could even be broken into multiple events, especially if one separate out the anthrax business, or looks at critical moments in the cover-up... I posted a thread on similar events in which statist power was brought to bear against the people (or labor) and there may be more candidates in that list. Certainly if you are going to include the Matewan massacre, you must also note the Battle of Blair Mountain, recently the focus of an attempt to note that site/event historically but which remains something that some would wish forgotten. It is memorable to me if only because early forms of US military air power under Billy Mitchell were brought to bear (flying out of the same airfield which sent the combat air patrol for DC out into the Atlantic on 9/11), and it is the origin of the term "redneck". This is a lovely idea which I hope gets well fleshed out to become our very own calendar (including graphics, videos, DPF and other links, and perhaps more), complete with automatic e-mail distribution to all members (and others?) for printing and posting in their favorite extensions and educational venues. Kudos to the ideators and executrices ... |
